Is the Porsche Cayman a good investment?

The 987.2 Cayman R is the purist's mid-engined Porsche: 330 hp flat-six, six-speed manual, 121 lbs lighter than the S, and widely seen as the spiritual predecessor to the GT4. Only 563 US-spec manuals built; UK RHD cars are rare and increasingly sought as the last truly analogue Cayman. Values have strengthened materially since 2021; highest recent sale was £80,500 in May 2026, showing the top end is already stretching the budget ceiling.
