The thesis

The 987 Cayman S with 3.4L flat-six is still unloved relative to 911s but offers mid-engine purity and growing enthusiast respect. Current UK values average £24,764 with strong supply, yet Porsche's global liquidity and post-Covid correction present entry opportunity before the naturally-aspirated mid-engine format commands the premium it deserves. Manual coupes with PASM suspension and no IMS issues (post-2006 cars) remain usable daily drivers that haven't yet run their appreciation cycle.
