Is the Porsche Cayman a good investment?
987.2 S Manual (2009–2013)
The thesis
The 987.2 Cayman S (3.4L flat-six, 320bhp) with the six-speed manual is the last naturally aspirated, hydraulically steered Cayman before the 718's turbo-four era. It offers the mechanical purity of the 997 911 in a lighter, mid-engined package. Manual examples are rarer than PDK and now command premiums; good S models with Sport Chrono and PSE sit around £30k–40k but haven't yet run hard. The 987 generation remains overshadowed by the 911, creating an opportunity before collectors fully wake up to its driver appeal and scarcity.
