Is the Porsche 997 a good investment?
Carrera GTS manual (2010–2012)
The thesis
The 997 GTS is the overlooked 911 that sits between Carrera S and GT3 – 3.8L NA flat-six, wider body, and subtle aggression without GT3 running costs. As the last naturally aspirated 911 generation before turbocharging became standard, manual GTS models are increasingly sought by purists. Prices are rising but remain well below GT3 territory, offering 90% of the experience at 60% of the cost. Strong usability and Porsche residuals make this a smart value play.
