The thesis

Just 600 built, the 4.0 was the swan song of the Mezger flat-six and the last naturally aspirated GT3 RS with a manual gearbox. Values ran hard 2015–22, now trading £280–400k. Highly sought by Porsche purists; many view it as the ultimate air-cooled successor. However, the appreciation cycle is mature—early buyers have already won. Discipline on mileage and originality is critical; this is a hold-or-exit-on-quality window, not early accumulation.
