Is the Porsche 911 a good investment?
997.2 GT3 RS manual (2009–2011)
The thesis
The 997.2 GT3 RS (3.8L Mezger, 450 hp) is the final RS with the legendary Mezger engine and was available with a six-speed manual. Only 1,619 built (much rarer than 991 RS), and manual examples command a 20–30% premium. Current UK band £160–210k; manuals cluster at the top. Mezger cult status is unmatched, but the market has already priced much of this in—values up ~80% since 2018. Mid-cycle, not early. Still, a blue-chip hold with strong global liquidity and relatively modest running costs for a GT3 RS. Best value if a clean manual can be secured below £190k.
