Is the Porsche 911 a good investment?
997.2 GT3 (manual, 2010–2012)
The thesis
The 997.2 GT3 (not the 4.0 RS, which is £400k+) is the accessible last-manual GT3: 435bhp 3.8L Mezger flat-six, no turbos, hydraulic steering. UK examples trade £90–130k depending on mileage and spec. This is mid-cycle: it has appreciated from the £60–80k lows of 2018–20, but trails the 4.0 RS by a country mile. As the 992 GT3 goes hybrid, the 997.2 manual is the entry point to the Mezger-engined GT3 lineage and still has room to run as the turbo 991.2 GT3 (also manual) cannibalizes demand below it.
