The first 997 GT3 RS (3.6L Mezger, 415bhp) is often overshadowed by the later 997.2 RS 3.8 and the ultra-rare 4.0, but it offers the same Mezger DNA, manual gearbox, and track purity at a significant discount. Current UK values £80–140k sit well below the 997.2 RS (£180–250k). As the 997.2 RS peaks and the 4.0 remains unobtainable (£400k+), the 997.1 RS is attracting fresh attention. Low production, last Mezger RS family, and room to run as collector focus widens.
