Is the Porsche 911 a good investment?
997.1 GT3 (Manual, 2007–2008)
The thesis
The 997.1 GT3 is the first GT3 with the legendary Mezger 3.6L flat-six revving to 8,400rpm, paired exclusively with a six-speed manual. It's lighter than the 997.2 (1,395kg) and many purists prefer its rawer character. Prices start around £85–90k, below the 997.2's £110k+ and far below the RS 4.0's stratospheric values. As the 991 GT3 went PDK-only and turbo 992s dominate, the 997.1 represents the last analogue GT3 experience at accessible money—a sweet spot for driver-focused collectors.
