Is the Porsche 911 a good investment?
991 GT3 RS manual (2015–2017)
The thesis
The 991.1 GT3 RS (4.0L, 500 hp) is the last GT3 RS before turbocharging arrived with the 992. PDK-only from factory, but a handful of aftermarket manual conversions exist (extremely rare). Prices have risen sharply: now £180–240k, up from £120–150k in 2020. This puts the lower band within budget, but most examples sit above £200k. Production ~7,000 units globally makes it less rare than the 911 R (991 built), but GT3 RS pedigree is unimpeachable. Cycle position is mid-to-late; already appreciated 60%+ in five years. Best for buyers seeking a blue-chip, track-ready hold rather than early-cycle upside.
