Is the Mercedes-Benz SL60 AMG a good investment?

The SL60 AMG (6.0L V8, ~380 bhp) is the accessible AMG R129, produced in limited numbers before Mercedes fully absorbed AMG. Just 49 RHD examples were built, and recent UK sales show £41k–£54k for good cars, with exceptional low-mile examples reaching A$104k (~£60k). The SL60 offers genuine AMG pedigree, naturally aspirated V8 character, and rarity without the stratospheric pricing of the SL70 or SL73. It's still 'early' relative to the halo models and sits squarely within the budget. The R129 AMG tide is rising—SL60 is riding that wave but hasn't crested, making it a calibrated bet for appreciation without over-extension.
