Is the Lotus Exige a good investment?

The thesis

The Lotus Exige S2 is the purist's track weapon: aluminium tub, under 900 kg, razor-sharp steering, and either the naturally aspirated Toyota 2ZZ or later supercharged 2ZZ engine. All UK cars are RHD and manual. Production numbers are murky but UK availability is reasonable. The S2 sits in a sweet spot: raw, usable, properly rare, and currently undervalued relative to the later V6 cars. Values have been flat for years; early-cycle positioning is strong.
