Is the Lotus Exige a good investment?

The thesis

The supercharged Toyota 2ZZ-powered Exige S and Cup 260 are the purest modern Lotus track weapons. Production numbers low (approx. 2,700 across all S2 variants 2004–2011), most UK RHD, and modern classics (2000s) are one of the few segments rising in the UK market per Hagerty. Extremely usable, reliable Toyota powertrain, and pure driving thrill. Underpriced compared to equivalent Porsche Cayman Rs; cycle has not yet run.
