Is the Lotus Exige a good investment?

The thesis

The Exige Cup 260 is the last naturally aspirated, Series 2 Exige special edition: 257 hp supercharged 1.8L Toyota four-cylinder (revised to 260 PS for 2009), track-focused, and homologated for road use. Lightweight (sub-900 kg with options), manual gearbox, limited production numbers, and still affordable. Values sit well within budget but may be underpriced relative to rarity and purity. The challenge is that it's a four-cylinder not a V6, and Lotus resale is slower than Porsche or Ferrari. Nonetheless, it's a genuine naturally aspirated, limited-run analogue car.
