The thesis

The S1 Elise 111S and Sport 160 variants are the higher-performance, lower-production versions of the iconic Series 1 Elise. These cars are even rarer than the standard S1, which itself is increasingly scarce. Prices for S1 Elises are rising as collectors recognize the purity of the Rover K-series, aluminium chassis, and sub-750 kg weight. The Sport 160 in particular offered 160 hp and track-focused setup. Current market shows good S1 111S examples £25k–£40k, making them accessible within budget. With the Exige S1 leading the way in appreciation, the halo Elise variants should follow—but haven't yet.
