Is the Honda S2000 a good investment?
AP2 Manual (2004–2009, UK-spec F20C)
The thesis
The Honda S2000 is the last high-revving naturally aspirated roadster Honda built (F20C 2.0L in UK spec, 9,000 rpm redline on AP1; AP2 chassis refinement from 2004 onward with improved rear suspension geometry). All UK cars are AP1-code chassis but facelifted post-2004 examples offer glass rear window and better oil banjo bolts. Prices have appreciated considerably since 2020, with Hagerty valuing a #3 AP2 at $29,500 (≈£23,500) and median UK auction prices £24,500–£25,000. The S2000 is disproportionately popular with millennial and Gen Z buyers, ensuring long-term demand. Clean, unmodified examples with full history are prized, and the car wears mileage well if maintained. The market has already run since 2020 but shows sustained strength rather than speculative froth.
