Is the Honda S2000 a good investment?
AP2 (2004–2009, UK-spec)
The thesis
One of the last great naturally aspirated roadsters with a 9000rpm redline (AP1) or 8200rpm (AP2). Approximately 4,300 S2000s remain on UK roads, and supply is shrinking as cars are modified or stored. Prices have surged from 'rock bottom' sub-£10k in the early 2010s to £18–30k today for good AP2s, with well-preserved AP1s nudging £30k. The 2026 Accio report confirms median auction prices of £24.5k and consistent appreciation, particularly for original, unmodified examples. Hagerty notes Porsche and Honda were the only brands seeing rising UK-to-US exports in 2025, demonstrating global collector interest. Usable, reliable (Toyota 2ZZ engine in later cars), and ticks every 'analogue' box.
