Is the BMW M3 a good investment?
E92 Coupe V8 Manual (2008–2013)
The thesis
The E92 M3 is the only M3 with a naturally aspirated V8—the S65 4.0L produces 414bhp and revs to 8,400rpm. It is the last M3 before turbocharging became standard and represents the end of BMW M's naturally aspirated era. Manual coupes are increasingly sought after, and UK prices for good examples sit between £28k–£45k depending on mileage and condition. The car is early in its cycle: still affordable relative to E46 M3s, but manual examples are already commanding premiums. Rod bearing replacement is critical (£2k–£3k), and throttle actuators are a known weak point. Strong global following ensures liquidity.
