The CS ('Competition Sport') is the overlooked stepping-stone between standard E46 M3 and the CSL. Just 1,383 built globally, with lightweight measures (no rear seats, thinner glass, smaller battery), retuned suspension, and CSL steering rack. Manual only. UK examples trade £30-40k currently—above the CSL's £80k+ but below where rarity justifies. Standard E46 M3 values rising; CSL already stratospheric. The CS offers 80% of CSL theater at 40% of price, but remains under-recognized. Cycle is mid because M3 is known, but the CS variant specifically has not run its appreciation cycle.
