Is the BMW M3 a good investment?
E46 CS/Competition Pack Manual (2005–2006)
The thesis
The E46 M3 CS (UK market) and Competition Package (US ZCP) were the bridge between the standard M3 and the ultra-rare CSL. They share the CSL's quicker steering, stiffer suspension, and 19-inch wheels but retain the standard 343bhp engine and, crucially, the six-speed manual gearbox the CSL lacked. UK CS models and ZCP imports are significantly rarer than the standard M3, yet still trade below CSL money (£80k+). At £27k–48k, they offer 80% of the CSL experience with better usability and stronger appreciation potential than the standard car. Low production numbers and purist appeal are catching on.
