Is the BMW M3 a good investment?
E46 coupe manual (2000–2006)
The thesis
Last naturally aspirated M3, last straight-six M3, and among the most celebrated driver's cars of the 2000s. The S54 engine's 8,000rpm redline and individual throttle bodies deliver a rawness now extinct in the turbocharged F80/G80 generations. UK prices currently sit £22-27k for clean manuals; collector interest is clearly building as taxed examples have fallen from 1,900 to 311 (people tucking them away). The cycle is mid not early—values climbed 2020-22 then paused—but the structural collector case (last NA, huge enthusiast following) remains intact and incomplete.
