Is the BMW M3 a good investment?
CSL (E46, RHD, 2003–2004)
The thesis
The E46 M3 CSL is the ultimate expression of the naturally aspirated straight-six M car: 110 kg lighter than the standard M3, structural stiffening, 360 hp S54, and only 542 RHD examples built. UK originally received 422 cars. The CSL has appreciated hard – from sub-£40k in the mid-2010s to £65–125k today. It is SMG-only (no manual), which divides opinion but is part of the CSL's DNA. Entry point now sits at the top of budget; peak pricing likely already achieved.
