Is the BMW E46 M3 a good investment?

Widely regarded as 'peak M3', the CSL represents the ultimate E46 with carbon roof, 360hp S54 straight-six, and lightweight philosophy. Only 422 UK RHD cars makes it genuinely rare. Note: CSL is SMG-only (automated manual), not a true three-pedal car, so doesn't perfectly match the 'manual' brief but delivers the naturally aspirated, analogue experience. Values have appreciated significantly – already traded between £60k–£95k – but remain below entry Ferrari/Porsche GT territory. More a blue-chip hold than early-cycle opportunity.
