Is the Audi R8 a good investment?
V10 manual (Type 42, 2009–2015)
The thesis
The first-gen R8 V10 with six-speed open-gate manual is the supercar daily driver: 5.2L naturally aspirated V10 (525 hp), Lamborghini Gallardo DNA, and genuine everyday usability. Gen II dropped the manual entirely in 2015, making the Type 42 manual the last of breed. UK market currently sits at £45–75k for good V10 manuals; values are firm but haven't exploded. The manual commands a 15–25% premium over R-Tronic; as analogue supercars vanish, this is textbook early cycle.
