Is the Audi R8 a good investment?
V10 Manual (2010–2015, Type 42)
The thesis
The first-gen R8 V10 with gated six-speed manual shares its 5.2-litre V10 with the Lamborghini Gallardo but offers Audi refinement and four-season usability. Only eight 2015 V10 Plus manuals were sold in the US; UK numbers are similarly tiny. Second-gen R8 dropped the manual entirely; the gated shifter is gone forever. Recent sales show £125k for clean 18k-mile examples. Manual R8 V10s have appreciated 42% over five years (8.4% annually) and remain under-recognised relative to Gallardo manuals, which command £150k+. The market is just waking up.
